Overview
Dreave is designed to be local-first. Dream journals, sleep settings, and in-app records are generally stored on your device. However, certain features, including AI analysis, speech transcription, crash diagnostics, analytics, advertising, website analytics, and purchase management, may send necessary data to the third-party services described below.
Information We Collect or Use
- On-device data: dream journal text, tags, emotion and lucid-dream records, sleep settings, notification settings, and app preferences.
- Voice data: used for dream journal recording and transcription. We do not store voice files on our own servers.
- AI analysis data: when you run AI analysis, the selected dream journal text is sent to an external AI service. If you include names, email addresses, or other identifying information in the text, that information may also be included.
- Usage and diagnostic data: app launches, screen views, feature usage, crash logs, device type, OS version, app version, and anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers.
- Advertising data: advertising identifiers, device information, ad impressions, clicks, reward events, and related interactions when ads are displayed.
- Purchase data: App Store purchase and subscription status, receipt information, and purchase history. We do not collect credit card numbers or other payment card details.
- Website analytics data: page views, referrers, browser and device information collected through Google Analytics on this website.
Purposes of Use
- Providing dream journal, search, analysis, notification, Night Mode, and Reality Check features
- Generating AI-based dream analysis, comments, and trend summaries
- Transcribing voice input
- Improving stability, diagnosing crashes, fixing bugs, and improving features
- Displaying ads, measuring ad performance, and granting rewards
- Verifying purchases, managing subscriptions, and responding to refunds and support requests
- Preventing abuse, enforcing the Terms of Service, and complying with legal obligations
Third-Party Services and International Transfers
The App and website use the following third-party services. These providers are primarily located in the United States. Where applicable law requires consent for transferring personal data to a third party located outside Japan or your country or region, we will provide the necessary information and obtain consent through an in-app confirmation screen, OS permission prompt, or another reasonable method. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
- Google Gemini API (Google LLC / primary country: United States)
Used to provide AI analysis by sending the selected dream journal text. Before AI analysis is executed, the App will make the information to be sent and the international transfer understandable to the user.
Google Privacy Policy - Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics (Google LLC / primary country: United States)
Used for usage analytics, crash diagnostics, bug fixing, and quality improvement. Usage events, diagnostic information, device information, and anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers may be sent.
Firebase Privacy and Security - Google AdMob (Google LLC / primary country: United States)
Used for ads and rewarded ads. Advertising identifiers, device information, and ad interaction data may be sent. The scope of collection depends on your App Tracking Transparency consent status.

Used for voice transcription, app distribution, purchases, refunds, and subscription management.

Sharing Personal Information
We do not share personal information with third parties except as described in this policy, as required for App Store payment processing, with your consent, as required by law, or where necessary to protect life, body, or property.
Retention and Deletion
- On-device dream journals and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
- Text sent for AI analysis is processed as necessary to generate analysis results. We do not permanently store AI analysis text on our own servers. Retention by third-party services is governed by their own policies.
- Firebase Crashlytics crash-related data is retained according to Google's standard retention period, typically 90 days before removal from live and backup systems begins.
- Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, and AdMob usage data, advertising data, and website analytics data are retained according to each service's retention settings and standard retention periods.
- Purchase and subscription records may be retained for accounting, tax, refund, fraud prevention, and support purposes for the period required by law or legitimate operational needs.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can delete on-device data through the app's delete functions or by uninstalling the app.
- You can manage notification, speech recognition, tracking, and advertising identifier permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store account settings.
- To request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, suspension of third-party provision, or withdrawal of consent for personal data we control, contact us at the email address below. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request. Where required by law, we will respond within a reasonable period.

For security and privacy reasons, the operator's legal name and address are not continuously displayed on this page. Where disclosure is required under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Specified Commercial Transactions Act, or other applicable laws, we will provide such information without delay after verifying the requester.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. Users aged 13 to 17 should use the App only with parental or guardian consent. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us promptly.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access controls, encrypted communications, and data minimization. However, no internet transmission or device storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, service features, or third-party services. If we make material changes, we will notify you by a reasonable method, such as in the app or on this website.
